INCIDENT REPORT : CLOUDBURST AT GEN A KAFARNAR BAIHK OF 32 RR ON 12 SEP 2021

Due to incessant rains on the intervening ni of 11 / 12 Sep 21 an incident of cloud burst occurred at higher reaches of Kafarnar Baihk causing flash floods in Gen A Kafarnar Baihk. The said incident occured at Kandi Belt of Rafiabad at around 0430 hrs on 12 Sep 2021 as per inputs recd from local populace.In the incident four persons among six of a bakkarwal family from Rajouri were killed, one was found alive and one person is still missing who too is believed to buried under the debris.Indls found dead have been iden as Arif Hussain (5), Tariq Ahemd Khari (8), Nazia Akhtar (14), Shahnaza Begam (30). The missing person is Haji Basir Ahmd.Rescue team ex Duniwar Army Camp led by Capt Saurav alongwith police pers ex Dangiwacha Police Station are searching for missing person who is feared to be buried under the debris.Col BS Khandare, Commanding officer 32 RR, Capt Saurav Kumar Duniwar Coy Commander are are in the area to render humanitarian asst.Stretchers, ropes, digging eqpt have been provided by the rescue teams.First Aid was provided to the injured .Further details awaited and will be fwd on receipt.
