Ganderbal 16th Sept: As part of celebrations under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, District Development Council Chairperson, Nuzhat Ishfaq today flagged off Rath Yatra awareness van under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen from Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Bilqees Jan and other officials were present on the occasion.
The awareness van will move to all Panchayats/villages of Ganderbal district to spread the awareness regarding Solid Waste Management under Swachhata and Satyagrah.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson said that the basic purpose of the Yatra is to promote Swachh Bharat Mission to accelerate the efforts to achieve sanitation coverage and to put the focus on cleanliness.
The DDC chairperson also lauded the efforts of Department of Rural Sanitation for taking such initiative for bringing quality of life in rural areas.
