Mumbai: In a major relief to Aryan Khan, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said on Sunday that it won’t seek further custody of superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son in connection with the Cordelia cruise drugs case.
Aryan Khan was sent to the NCB’s custody for a day by a Mumbai court on Sunday. India Today has learnt that the moment Aryan Khan will be sent to judicial custody on Monday, his lawyers would apply for his bail.
Apart from Aryan Khan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and another accused, Munmun Dhamecha, were arrested on Saturday by the NCB officials for their alleged involvement in a drugs case.
Aryan Khan was placed under arrest on Sunday at 2 pm, for involvement in consumption, selling and purchasing of contraband.
“All three accused will be produced again before the court tomorrow (Monday) for their judicial custody. Remaining 5 accused, namely Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar, were arrested later today (Sunday),” said the NCB in a statement.
Acting on a tip-off, the NCB had raided a rave party on board the Empress Cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai on Saturday. The agency investigators alleged that they had seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of MD, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of MDMA (ecstasy) and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash from the accused.
In a written statement, Aryan Khan acknowledged his arrest, stating, “I understand grounds of my arrest and informed the same to my family members.”
