District Administration Ganderbal organizes blood donation camp

GANDERBAL, JUNE 14: To commemorate the ‘World Blood Donor Day’ celebrated worldwide, on 14th June every year, District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with Health Department Ganderbal on Sunday organized a blood donation camp at Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, (Chairman District Red Cross Society) Shafqat Iqbal inaugurated the camp in presence of SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, CMO and other officials from district Administration and health department.


The camp marked the participation of eminent citizens, volunteers, police personnel and other prominent sections of the society.


Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the need creating awareness among masses regarding benefits of blood donation and said that blood donation not only save lives of others but also helps the donor live longer and in a healthier way.

The main objective of organizing the camp was to create awareness among the common masses about the misconceptions and fear regarding blood donation in the society and simultaneously disseminate message on benefits of following SOPs regarding COVID-19 like using face masks, maintaining social distance and frequent hand washing.


The DC appealed to the participants to spread the message of voluntary blood donation to every nook and corner of the district.


A large number of volunteers donated blood during the camp which was coordinated by team of doctors from Health department Ganderbal.
