Bandipora 12 October 2021:-
Bandipora police continuing its war against the menace of drugs arrested 03 drug peddlers in Sumbal during patrolling and recovered contraband drugs from there possession.
Acting on a specific information regarding movement of a drug peddlers in Sumbal area a patrolling party headed by SHO P/S Sumbal Inspector Mohmad Saleem under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal, Shri Surendar Mohan -JKPS intercepted three persons in suspicious condition and on their search 17 bottles of Codeine were recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as 01:Majid Mushtaq Shangu S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Shangu R/o Osangrampora Sopore 02:Shafat Ahmad Shah S/o Muzafar Ahmad Shah R/o Shaalpora Sopore 03:Nazir Ahmad Sofi S/o Gh Ahmad Sofi R/o Dil na Baramulla, presently residing at Sumbal.
During preliminary enquiry it was revealed that the accused were supplying drugs to youths of the area to make them drug addicts. Accordingly Case FIR No.136/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in police station Sumbal and further investigation has been taken up.
People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and help police in eradicating the menace of drugs.
