Srinagar, Oct 22: Kashmir will witness erratic weather from Friday late afternoon to October 24th afternoon, Deputy Director MeT Mukhtar Ahmed said.

He said there is a possibility of light snowfall even in plains while upper reaches areas may witness light to heavy snowfall. He said parts of South Kashmir including Kulgam, Qazigund and Northern parts including Keran, Kupwara as well as Central Kashmir parts including Sonmarg may witness heavy snowfall.

“We have already issued a weather advisory and request people particularly farmers to act as per that advisory,” Mukhtar Ahmed told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

He said the weather will improve on October 24 afternoon.

“On 23rd October there will be light snowfall or widespread rainfall in plains while upper reaches may recored heavy snowfall. Those who are intending to travel to Jammu or Ladakh should keep weather advisory into consideration. We don’t want farmers to witness losses and beforehand we have advised them to take protective measures,” Mukhtar Ahmed said.

He said due to erratic weather, day and night temperatures will come down automatically. (KNT)
