Srinagar, 27 Oct 2021. As a tribute to COVID Women Warriors and to honour
their contribution in fight against COVID -19, Indian Army organised felicitation
ceremony for frontline COVID Women Workers at Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry
Regimental Centre on the occasion of Infantry Day i.e. 27 Oct. The ceremony
showcased the undying spirit of frontline women workers for their tireless work. As a
token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication towards fight against COVID-
19 pandemic, which includes ensuring implementation of COVID protocols,
maintaining strict sanitation drive, treatment of COVID-19 patients and vaccination
drive. Zonal President AWWA, Chinar Corps, Mrs Usha Pandey presented
“Certificate of Appreciation” to 31 Frontline COVID Women Warriors which including
9 health workers, 13 Police & Para Military Force personnel and 9 house keepers.
Mrs Usha Pandey in her address thanked the COVID Women Warriors for
their service to contain the spread of COVID besides making significant contribution
to save the precious lives during the first and second waves. On behalf of Infantry
Directorate, Brig Sumesh Seth, Commandant, Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry
Regimental Centre and all the Infantry Soldiers saluted and thanked the selfless
efforts rendered by COVID Women Warriors in managing the pandemic and also
appreciated the way, these frontline workers have vaccinated people in difficult
areas of Kashmir Valley.
