"It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves."
Srinagar, 11 Dec 2021. On the occasion of International Mountain Day, which took
place on 11 Dec 21, Lachhipora Battalion of the Dagger Division, organised a rock
climbing training event for children in the Area Of Responsibility. Students from
Classes 8 to 10 were given an opportunity to experience the thrill of mountaineering,
equipped with professional paraphernalia, under expert supervision.
The aim of this activity was to spread awareness about the importance of
mountains in life and to highlight the significance of mountains in nature. The event
was recieved enthusiastically by the children and they enjoyed receiving first-hand
experience in mountain climbing and the challenges associated with it
