DDC Budgam reviews functioning RDD

BUDGAM, JUNE 23: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza reviewed functioning of Rural Development Department in the district.

The meeting discussed issues relating to status of works taken in hand under various schemes till date, man days generated under MGNREGA since relaxations besides wages disbursed to the labour class.

The DDC emphasized that works taken in hand under 14th FC shall be duly monitored as per prescribed guidelines and concerned BDOs were directed to conduct regular gram sabah, besides involve local residents in identifying the priority works, projects to be taken in hand in their respective locality.

The DDC said that the Department of Rural Development has capacity and potential to absorb huge labour class in providing alternate employment opportunities in earning their basic livelihood, it can also change socio economic diversity of underprivileged and weaker sections.

He added that every officer or official representing the department has to discharge his duties with utmost dedication and responsibility.

The DDC informed the meeting that he himself shall monitor performances on the ground and will take fortnightly review of functioning of RDD in the district.

The DDC directed BDOs, AEEs and other concerned to understand and know his respective blocks in every aspect and added that the concerned shall do away with Status quo approach rather follow pro active approach, work with full intent and rejuvenate the blocks.

The meeting among others was attended by CPO, ACD, Ex. Er. REW, DIO, all BDOs, and other concerned officials.
