South Kashmir: Gunfight breaks out in Bijbhera

Srinagar, June 30:Gunfight rages between militants and government forces in Waghama area of Bijbhera of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police and Army’s 03 RR a cordon-and-search-operation in Waghama.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

A senior police officer confirmed to GNS the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
