Pulwama, Feb 7: A militant was killed in a shootout in Nambal area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora town.
Police in a tweet said that an unidentified militant was killed in the gunfight.
Sources said that soldiers from 42 Rashtriya Rifles, 130 Battalion CRPF, and SOG personnel from Jammu and Kashmir Police arrived at Nambal area and during random searches, contact with a militant was established who was killed in the exchange of fire.
A police official told news agency that the encounter ended with the killing of a militant whose identity is being ascertained. .
