Bandipora, July 3, KNT: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Banipora distrit.
A police official told news agency KNT that acting on a specific Information, a police party of Police Station Sumbal arrested a person namely Mehrajudin Najar of Inderkote Sumbal and recovered Psychotropic drugs from him. During questioning, he revealed the name of another drug peddler.
According police raided the house of that person at Panzinara and recovered 2 boxes of Psychotropic drug Spasmo-Proxyvon (Tramadol) from the possession of Mehrajudin Malik.
In this connection, an FIR under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Sumbal and further investigation taken up.
These arrests were made by police team led by Station House Officer Police Station Sumbal Muneeb-ul-Islam under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal Saqib Ghani.
Police appealed general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. “Persons found indulging in drug peddling and cultivation of contraband substances will be dealt strictly as per law,” police said. (KNT)
