Authorities have booked a drug peddler of Lolab area of this north Kashmir district under Public Safety Act.
Officials said that Nisar Ahmed Sheikh son of Hayat Sheikh of Maidanpora Loalab has been involved in FIR No. 01/2029 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Lalpora and FIR no 46 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Sogam and FIR no 149/2016. He has been lodged in central jail Srinagar.
A senior officer of the administration told news agency that Nisar Ahmad Sheikh was involved in drug peddling in the area, “thereby addicting the youth towards contraband substance.”
Meanwhile, locals hailed the action of administration and urged the police to take strict action against all those involved in the drug related “nexus.”
