Anganwadi Workers, Helpers held protest demonstration in Kulgam

Demand release of wages, increase in honorarium

 

Kulgam, April 8: Hundreds of Anganwadi workers, helpers working under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme under the banner of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union J&K affiliated with CITU on Friday assembled at Tehsil Park, Kulgam, held protest demonstration, chanted slogans in favor of their genuine demands. Protesters urged the administration to enhance their honorarium at par with the adjoining states of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi.

While addressing the protesting workers, helpers Mir Haneefa Working President of the union demanded fixation of final seniority list of Anganwadi workers and conduct of DPC without any delay, implementation of new pension schemes in favour of workers and helpers, keeping provision of gratuity at the time of retirement and said that that there is liability of wages from January 2019, state share and central share besides release of centre share from September 2021 to February 2022. Seniority list of Workers, Helpers be prepared and DPC be held once in two years as was done earlier, promotion strictly as per seniority, regular payment of rent and monthly charges for mobiles may be provided and outstanding payments released at the earliest.

Others who addressed the protest demonstration include Fehmida Najar,Zamrooda Ji, Zahida Zargar, Misra Ji, Parveena Ji, Rozy Ji and Bilkeesa Gull Anganwadi leaders.
