GANDERBAL, JULY 16: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today inaugurated a day long Kissan Mela as part of Kissan Pakhwada activities here at Madri Meharban stadium.The Mela was organized by Department of Agriculture in collaboration with allied departments to target cent percent saturation of farmer welfare schemes including subsidy schemes, Kissan Credit Card (KCC), PM-KISAN, etc.
The DC while speaking on the occasion urged the farmers to avail the benefits of various flagship programmes and schemes in agriculture sector and allied wings which are intended at doubling the farmers’ income and provide economic security against natural calamities.
He also impressed upon the officers and field functionaries to make the programme a grand success by covering all the farmers including those engaged in Horticulture, Diary, Fisheries, Sheep rearing etc. under KCC scheme and intensify mass awareness in their work area regarding farmer’s welfare schemes.
