Dr Darakhshan visits Srinagar shrines to take stock of arrangements for Eid Prayers

Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today visited Asar Sharief Hazratbal, Ziyarat Makhdoom Sahib (ra), the shrine of Dastgir Sahib (ra) at Khanyar and Syed Yaqoob Sahib at Sonawar and took stock of the arrangements put in place for Eid prayers. Dr Darakhshan was accompanied by Members of Waqf Board Dr G N Haleem & Syed Mohammad Hussain, representatives of District, Police and Municipal Administration and the Chief Executive Officer of J&K Waqf Board Mufti Fareed. Dr Andrabi emphasized on the need for a coordinated effort of all departments to finalize fool proof arrangements for all at these shrines. “I am convinced to know that J&K Waqf Body in coordination with local administration has put in all arrangements for people during Eid Prayers at these locations. The UT administration has geared up all departments to meet the requirements,” said Waqf Board Chairperson. She appealed to the people to demonstrate utmost modesty and disciple during the congregational prayers on Eid befitting the spirit of the festival of spiritual enlightenment and sacrifice. Dr Andrabi prayed for the peace and harmony in the land of sufis and rishis. She assured the people that the newly formed Waqf Board will strive hard to ensure up gradation of the facilities at important shrines for pilgrims.
