A message from the east by a Kashmiri medical student in Philippines , Jibran Hakak
In times like these when the developed world reels from Covid-19 what hope is left for Kashmir?
Italy’s Coronavirus death toll has passed China’s. The U.S. struggling. The health care facilities are overrun around the world. The best hope for our people is prevention.
If we could sit tight for the past year, I’m sure we can do it now when life hangs in the balance. Sacrifices are to be made. Isolating the elderly and the children from the ones going out into to world. Staying put in our homes. This is our only chance. To act now while we can before its another Italy or Iran here.
POET
The world around grows grim
Shadows of the night stretch far
Men & women rushing to the bazaar
The world of men hangs on a limb
Yes, my dear exclaims the reaper
I am the vanisher of your sorrows
Pay the debt of time you had borrowed
Purgatory awaits a coffin from the finest cedar
Some men fear the unknown
Every man, woman & child dreads alone
Some die young, others overgrown
For these who follow the Messenger have always known
Life is of the essence in these times
Survive thee if you read between the lines.
