KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS VICTORY FLAME: COMMEMORATING 23 YEARS OF VICTORY OVER PAKISTAN IN 1999 WAR

5 July 2022, Kupwara.
​To commemorate 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas, the “Kargil Victory Flame” on 05th July 2022 reached Langate in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir.

​The ‘Kargil Victory Flame’ which commenced its journey on June 17 from the Northern Command and reached Kilo Force is traversing through the Kashmir Valley completing a journey of 400 Km in approximately 40 days where it will be subsumed into the Kargil War Memorial Flame on July 26, 2022.

​The torch was received from 10 Sect RR at 1530 hrs and was carried to Langate by soldiers, Ex-servicemen, civil dignitaries and school children of 7 Sector Rashtriya Rifles area. Also a one mile commemorative run was organised to carry the victory flame to Army Camp Langate.

​In remembrance of heroes and brave hearts of the Kargil War, various events were organised at Army Camp Langate to celebrate the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. It included wreath laying at War Memorial followed by National Anthem and group photograph. Ex-servicemen along with Veer Naris also participated in the event.
​A large enthusiastic gathering including school children, NCC Cadets, Ex-servicemen and civil dignitaries gathered to pay respect to the Kargil Victory Flame. On this occasion, Veer Nari Smt Zerna Akhtar, w/o LNk (Late)Gh Mohd Khan, VrC (Kargil Hero) was also felicitated.
