PULWAMA, SEPTEMBER 28: In order to aware the general public about ill effects of drug menace, Excise Range South Kashmir in collaboration with the District Administration Pulwama today organized an Anti Drug marathon under ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’ campaign.
The marathon was flagged off by Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Kashmir Tazayun Mukhtar and started from Gangoo Crossing and culminated near Middle School Drussu.
Excise and Taxation Officer Excise Range South Kashmir, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Pulwama and officers and officials of other departments were also present on the occasion.
About 250 students of different schools participated in the marathon.
Addressing the gathering before flag-off, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kashmir said that the marathon has been conducted under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan to make Pulwama drug free and urged youngsters/ students to be ambassadors against drug addiction.
She said open discussion on such issues helps to eradicate the menace and added that all misconceptions regarding selective impacts of social evils needs to be eradicated by educating the youngsters regarding the menace which has engulfed the whole society.
Tazayun Mukhtar further said that youngsters have a great influence on society in building a well-developed nation. She urged all participants to be an inspiration for youngsters in avoiding drugs and participate in various social friendly activities including sports.
The marathon concluded near Drussu crossing and winners were felicitated with awards and appreciation certificates.
