Orange the world, end violence against women .

Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Helpline organized mega awareness programme at Government Polytechnic College Hatbora Ganderbal on the theme ‘Lets Orange the World “ahead of 15 days Activism Unite Elmination of Violence on Women and Girls. Campaign Under an umbrella, we stand united to fight physical, verbal and emotional violence, both online and offline and SAY NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.
Guest Speaker Mr Bilal Bhat Campaigner cum Project coordinator WHL-181 apprised the students & staff about the Centrally sponsored schemes of Department of Social Welfare Jammu and Kashmir especially for the WID .On the occasion hand book on Protection of Sexual Harassment ,Act 2013 also launched in presence of Principal of the College Er Shaista Shamim and other faculty members.
Bilal Bhat highlighted the overall services provided by the helpline. Giving details, he said the helpline provides 24-hour immediate response to women in distress and represents them before the appropriate service providers such as police and legal authorities.
He said the one-stop centre also provides services like hospital assistance, emergency response and psychological support/counselling, temporary shelter, family counselling etc.
Speaking on the occasion Bilal Bhat highlight the various women specific schemes in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Bhat further informed the participants that they can get help from the helpline in case of domestic violence, dowry abuse, mental torture, sexual assault, eve-teasing, cyber-crime, child sexual abuse, rape, economical violence or any other violence.
100’s of students taken part in the drive of Lets Orange the World & pledged to strengthen the message Let’s Stand Today for the Better Tomorrow.
Speaking on the occasion Er Shaista Shamim principal of the college apprised the students to take benefits of all Social Welfare Schemes of J&K. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Fazila Mam coordinator Women Empowerment Cell .
