AIDS Awareness and HIV Screening Programme

Today, an AIDS awareness & HIV screening programme was organised as a part of “World AIDS day” at GC Srinagar, Humhama in which large number of CRPF personnel and family members residing inside the campus participated. On this occasion, Dr. Imtiaz Khan, Asstt. Director, J&K AIDS control Society delivered an informative lecture on AIDS awareness and sensitised Force personnel and family members about the topic. Dr. Imtiaz Khan and his team also carried out HIV screening of more than 50  Jawans/family members. During the event, Dr R C Bishariya of GC Srinagar delivered a motivational speech and urged force personnel to come forward for screening test. Shri Rajesh Kumar, DIG, GC Srinagar was the first to volunteer for the HIV screening test. Dr Imtiaz Khan, for taking out his valuable time to spread awareness among CRPF personnel, was felicitated by DIG, GC Srinagar. Apart from men, officers and families from GC, CRPF premises, Shri Nikhil Rastogi, Commandant, 35 Bn also attended the lecture cum screening programme.
On the sidelines of this programme, a lecture on “Cyber Bullying” was also conducted, during which Sh. Amit Deshwal,  Assistant Commandant delivered a very informative and interactive lecture on Cyber Bullying that helped spread awareness among the Jawans and family members about Cyber Bullying and Frauds.
