One day Training/ Workshop on registration of Birth & Death records held at Budgam

DC stresses on hassle-free registration, distribution of certificates

A daylong Training cum Workshop on implementation of ORGI Software for Civil Registration System (CRS), of Births and Deaths was today held at Conference Hall in Budgam.

The programme was organized by Chief Registrar, Births and Deaths J&K, (Director General, Economics & Statistics J&K) in collaboration with Directorate of Census Operations J&K, Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI.

The daylong programme was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid.

Among others, the programme was attended by JD Planning, DSEO, CMO, BMOs, BDOs, Medical Superintendents, EOs of Municipalities, SO Planning, Data Operators and Dealing Assistants.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of training and workshop and asked all registrars to make best use of the training and ensure smooth and prompt registration of both Births and Deaths in all areas.

He called upon the concerned to ensure the process is hassle-free and without any loopholes and distribution of certificates of both birth and deaths in a time bound manner.

Earlier, in his welcome address, JD Planning, CPO, Rafiq Ahmad stressed on transparent maintenance of birth and deaths records and urged registrars to conduct awareness camps and brainstorming sessions with concerned for public convenience and information.

Additional District Registrar, DSEO Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad gave a detailed introduction about Revised Registration of Births and Deaths Rule 2022.

During the workshop, Shazia Bashir, Senior Consultant and Faisal Nadeem and Mansoor Hakim, Junior Consultants spoke threadbare on importance of registration, uses of registration records, salient features of RBD Act 1969 and Revised Registration of Births and Deaths Rules 2022 through power point presentation.

The registrars were sensitized about their role and responsibilities for robust record maintenance and easy registration and accessibility to the appropriate data.

During the question- answer session, consultants clarified various queries and confusions raised by the participants.

District Registrar/ CMO Budgam, Dr Lahoot Hassan during her vote of thanks presentation said that the workshop was quite informative and helpful for making the process of registration of birth and deaths records as error free and prompt.
