KARNAH // Continuous bad weather conditions are once again causing problems and hardships for the people of Karnah because after being restored for only 2 days during the last one week, the Karnah Kupwar highway has been closed for vehicular traffic for the last 4 days. As 3 feet of fresh snow has accumulated on the highway, until the last reports, snowfall was continuing on Sadhana Top and its surrounding areas. Meanwhile, 2 patients from Sub District Hospital Tangdar have been advised to go to Srinagar, but the highway has not been cleared. Due to the closure, these patients cannot be brought to Srinagar. According to a senior officer of the health department, the administration has been informed about transferring the patients to Srinagar. The body of Islamic scholar Qari Muhammad Rafi has not been able to reach Karna from Kupwara. The tireless efforts of the administration and the relatives have also failed in the face of bad weather conditions. It was delivered with the hope that maybe they will help to deliver Karna. This is not it Rather, the cremated remains of Raja Naseer alias Shana of Kandi Karna, who died in a train accident in UP, were also brought to Kupwara late in the evening. SDM Karnah Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather said that there are difficulties in restoring the chopper service due to continuous bad weather because the helicopter cannot fly in bad weather. And the avalanches are falling and the restoration of the highway is not possible in bad weather conditions. However, as soon as the weather changes, along with the restoration of the highway, the authorities will be recommended to restore the air service in full. Meanwhile, the administration has also issued an advisory advising people not to travel to the upper reaches during bad weather conditions as landslides and rockfalls are likely to occur in these areas.
