Srinagar May 01: The Department of Youth Services and Sports on Monday carried out various sports activities for the differently abled youth across Kashmir Division.
A good number of youth with disabilities participated in chess, carrom and cricket competitions in Tral Sports Zone of the Pulwama district.
While providing details about such out of box activities, Director of the Department Subash C Chhibber has said that the aim of organsing such events is to uplift morale of our youth with physical challenges. ‘’These youth deserve our support and every type of encouragement for taking part in any game of their choice” he added.
Joint Director Kashmir of the Department Waseem Raja while highlighting importance of engaging youth with disabilities in any recreational and sports activities has said that the Department is committed to provide every possible opportunity to such youth and it’s heartwarming to see a good number of such boys and girls from different Kashmir based districts getting involved with much interest and enthusiasm on the first day of the week long program.
The winners were felicitated by the ZPEO tral in presence of all other officials of the zone.
The participants thanked the Department of YS&S and unanimously demanded for the organisation of such events in the future also.
