JK Youth participate in scores of sports activities across UT
Srinagar June 03: J&K successfully organized diverse Sports activities in connection with G-20 Presidency of India in three districts of Central Kashmir- District Ganderbal, Srinagar and Budgam aimed at promoting Physical fitness, camaraderie and a healthy competitive spirit among the participants. District Ganderbal conducted a series of sports activities in different sports Zones of the District Highlighting the fervor and enthusiasm shown by young Players. Spoke Zone Ganderbal also organized am impressive Inter Zonal District Level Judo Championship at Indoor Sports Complex Sehpora Ganderbal for Girls of all age groups. The event witnessed participation of 40 talented judo players from all the zones of the District. The winners were awarded with medals by the senior officials of the Department. An Inter School Zonal Level Table Tennis Competition for Boys of U/19 Zone was organised at Tullamulla. The event witnessed the participation of 26 student players from different schools of the Zone. The meritorious players were awarded with well deserved medals by the Principal BHSS Wakura Ab. Majid Rangrez.
Similarly an Inter School Chess competition was organised at BHS Harran. 25 energetic Boys and girls of the school participated. BMS Sindhbal also conducted a Yoga Event for Boys of the school in which a large number of Boys of the school enthusiastically took part.
Meanwhile District Srinagar under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and as part of the calendar of activities conducted Inter School Zonal Level Chess/Carom and Rope Skipping Competitions at Zone Batamaloo for boys of U/19 years. These competitions were conducted at the Indoor Sports Hall GOVT HSS RAWALPORA Srinagar. 150 students of GOVT /Private Educational Institutions pertaining to Zone Batamaloo participated in these events. Before starting the events, the participants along with the officials of the Department took a pledge against drug menace. 38 private schools and 89 Govt educational institutions participated in such events. The meritorious students were awarded with Medals after the culmination of the events. Similarly District Budgam is also leaving no stone unturned in polishing sports talent of Youth by engaging them in diverse sports activities. Competition in Table Tennis were organised at sports Zone Magam for BOYS U-14 and U/17 at BHSS MAGAM. A Total of 51 students from different schools of sports Zone Magam Participated in this event.
In north Kashmir district Bandipora, the Department of Youth Services & Sports J&K organised an impressive Painting Competition and Community Service Activities. The event took place at MS Guzerbal Zone Quil, with a display of talent and community spirit. The Department of Youth Services & Sports commended all the participants for their remarkable talent and passion for art.
In addition to the painting competition, the event also included community service and Janbaghedari activities at HS Bankoot. These activities aimed to promote a sense of responsibility and ownership among the youth, encouraging them to actively contribute to the betterment of their community. The Department of Youth Services & Sports applauds the students for their dedication and commitment to making a positive impact on society.
Furthermore, the event witnessed a mesmerizing display of the G20 from the students of HSS Quil.
Meanwhile YSS in district Kulgam’s sports Zone Devsar organised interschool zonal level competitions in the discipline of Volleyball U/17 Girls in the premises of HSS Devsar. More than 75 student players participated from different Government/ Privative institutions of the zone. Zonal Physical Education Officer Devsar was personally monitoring the event.
South Kashmir’s Pulwama district is also engaging youth in different sports activities. Sports zone Pampore organised an Inter Zonal District Level girls Martial Arts Championship.
The event was held at Birla Open Minds International.
A large number of players from all 8 Zones of the District Pulwama Participated with enthusiasm.
The event was inaugurated by Convenor of the event in presence of other Officials of the Department.
Similarly sports Zone Shopian organised an interschool Zonal Level Badminton competition of U/14 and U/17 girls at Boys Higher Secondary School Shopian under the banner of G-20. Principal BHSS Shopian inaugurated the competition. Participants were urged to ensure that they propagate the importance of a drug free life by taking part in sports activities and recreational activities. In sports Zone Vehil Kho-Kho competition of U/17 years girls was held at High School Nawgam under the banner of G-20. In the Competition an adequate number of participants took part.
