Kulgam police under the close supervision of SP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, police party headed by SHO Police station Qazigund established a checkpoint (Naka) at Wanpora and during checking one person namely; Mohd Amin Bhat S/O Abdul Rashid Bhat R/O Check Badwani carrying a nylon bag was signalled to stop who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. After checking, officers present were able to recover 02 KG of Poppy Straw like contraband substance from his possession.
Regarding this incident, a Case FIR No. 101/2023 U/S 8/15* of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been set into motion.
