The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 85th Raising Day with great zeal and fervour, where an investiture ceremony took place to commend the exceptional contributions of its men and officers. Sh. Dilbagh Singh, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police graced the occasion as the chief guest. The ceremony was organized to felicitate the recipients of the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the DGP J&K Police Medal and Commendation Certificate.
Prior to the investiture ceremony, Sh. Dilbagh Singh, along with Sh. Nalin Prabhat, ADG J&K Zone, paid their heartfelt tributes to the martyrs at the martyrs’ memorial, reflecting on the supreme sacrifice made by CRPF personnel in the line of duty.
Sh. Rajesh Chaurasia, DIG, Group Centre, extended a warm welcome to all the distinguished guests and attendees. Among the notable attendees were Sh. Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG Srinagar Sector, Sh. Zaki Ahmad, IG Jammu Sector, and Sh. Gyanendra Kumar Verma, IG Kashmir Ops Sector, who graced the occasion to honor the awardees.
During the ceremony, Sh. Dilbagh Singh, DGP J&K Police, delivered a key-note address, lauding the exemplary professionalism displayed by the CRPF throughout its distinguished history. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the CRPF for their unwavering commitment to carrying out diverse duties effectively and efficiently over the years.
The DGP spoke highly of the continued synergy and cooperation between CRPF and Jammu & Kashmir Police, acknowledging the pivotal role played by both forces in ensuring the safety and security of the region. He praised CRPF for being the “Tallest Force” due to its exceptional professionalism, values, discipline, and ethos.
Sh. Dilbagh Singh expressed deep appreciation for the CRPF’s role in maintaining humane policing in the region, which has been beset by terrorism and chaos for years. He emphasized the need for both CRPF and J&K Police to continue their strong collaboration to provide the best possible policing services in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The DGP also congratulated the CRPF and J&K Police for the arrangements made for peaceful conduct of Muharram procession, for which permission was given by administration after more than three decades. He hailed it as a momentous occasion for the people of Kashmir, signifying the progress made in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

Dilbagh Singh, DGP J&K Police, for gracing the occasion on the momentous occasion of CRPF’s 85th Raising Day. He also thanked all the attendees for their presence and support in making the event a grand success. After the ceremony, Sh. Dilbagh Singh, DGP, J&K police planted a sapling in the campus of the Group Centre, CRPF.
