Police has successfully solved a blind murder case within just five days of its occurrence, resulting in the arrest of four individuals in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
An official told that on October 17, 2023, the Police Station Bemina received reliable information about an unidentified woman’s murder.
The woman’s lifeless body was discovered on the roadside in Durbal, Bemina. Responding swiftly, a police team from the Bemina Police Station immediately arrived at the crime scene to secure the body and preserve crucial evidence.
Following the necessary procedures, the police registered Case FIR No. 101/2023 u/s 302 IPC at the Bemina Police Station and initiated a thorough investigation. The deceased was later identified as Tanveera, the wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, residing in Nundresh Colony B, Batamaloo, Srinagar.
Under the leadership of the SDPO West, and with the assistance of the SHO PS Bemina, the investigative team meticulously examined the case. They determined that the woman in question was murdered on October 16, 2023, at West End Colony in Hyderpora.
Subsequently, her body was transported from Hyderpora to Durbal, Bemina, in an attempt to mislead the investigation.
Utilizing available technical evidence, along with intensive questioning of the suspects, the police were able to make significant progress. As a result, four individuals have been apprehended thus far. The suspects include Abina Parveez, sister-in-law of the deceased, wife of Parveez Ahmad Shah, a resident of West End Colony, Hyderpora. The second suspect is a minor female, whose name is being withheld for legal reasons. The other two arrested individuals are Gh. Mohd Ahanger, son of Late Haji Gh. Hussain Ahanger, and Jala Wadoo, wife of Gh. Mohd Ahanger. Both of them reside in Khushipora HMT, and their address is noted as Gulposh Apartment, Bemina. Notably, Gh. Mohd Ahanger and Jala Wadoo are the father and mother of the first accused, Abina Parveez.
The investigation is still ongoing, as the police continue to gather evidence and delve deeper into the case. (KS)
