25 cases of biopsy done by dermatology department this year at GMC Rajouri

Dermatology department related with skin disease has been introduced in Pirpanchal region first time with the establishment of GMC Rajouri.

Dr Rohini Sharma HOD of the Dermatology department told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that there is availability of separate ward in Associated Hospital GMC Rajouri for treating dematological emergencies.

He said that minor operation theatre facility is also available in the hospital to deal with minor surgical intervention for skin diseases .

He added that 8 cases of Basel Cell Carcinoma, a type of skin cancer have been diagnosed so far since the establishment of the department.
Atypical very rare skin diseases have also been detected and treated
Histopathological diagnosis of skin cancer and atypical rare diseases have been diagnosed by the active participation of Dr Meenakshi Khajuria HOD Department of Pathology GMC Rajouri,” he added.

Previously these patients have to go out side pirpanchal region for diagnosis and treatment.

He said that this year so far 25 cases of biopsy have been done including Basel cell Carcinoma(bcc), Rare Epudermodysplasia Skin fragility Syndrome, Chromoblastomycosis, Aquasyringeal Keratoderns Verrucous etc.(KS)
