In the interest of ensuring the safety of the general populace, travelers, and drivers, the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police has announced the temporary suspension of vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW-44) between Nashri and the NAVYUG Tunnel. This suspension is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2023, from 0000 hrs to 0400 hrs.
The decision to suspend traffic in this section of NHW-44 is due to the critical need to carry out the launching of girders at the Nashri viaduct, an essential safety measure for the highway. This temporary suspension is part of a proactive approach to safeguard the traveling public by conducting necessary maintenance work and infrastructure improvements.
Suspension Start Time: No vehicle shall be allowed on NHW-44 after 2100 hrs from Qazigund towards Jammu and 2200 hrs from Udhampur towards Srinagar on November 8, 2023. These restrictions will be in place to facilitate the safe execution of the maintenance work at the Nashri viaduct.
Additional Traffic Police J&K on their “X” platform as per *Anantnag News Reader* said Vehicular movement on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) will remain suspended between Nashri and NAVYUG Tunnel on 08-11-2023 (Wednesday) from 0000 hrs to 0400 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after 2100 hrs from Qazigund towards Jammu and 2200 hrs from Udhampur towards Srinagar in view of launching of girders at Nashri viaduct to ensure safety of general populace/travellers /drivers.
