JDI addresses public issues, deliberates on departmental schemes, encourages Self-Sufficiency

POONCH, NOVEMBER 10: The Back to Village Phase 5 (B2V5) programme was today conducted successfully at Panchayat Dhargloon Upper.

Prabhari Officer Vivek Puri, Joint Director Information (JDI), visited the Panchayat and addressed the general public, shedding light on the aim and objectives of the programme.

The Prabhari Officer discussed the issues raised in previous Back to Village programmes and encouraged the public to share their current concerns.

A Gram Sabha was held under the chairmanship of Prabhari Officer Vivek Puri, (Joint Director Information) and in presence of Tehsildar Balakote Pawan Kumar, Block Development Officers and other frontline workers of line departments.

Government functionaries deliberated on the schemes and services offered by their respective departments to the general public.

Ajay Panjotra, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO) Balakote, explained the subsidies and government programs available to farmers, with special emphasis on crop rotation and organic farming.

Tehsildar Balakote, Pawan Kumar enlightened the audience about the online services provided by the revenue department and also discussed the Public Service Guarantee Act.

The participants were informed about the convenience and accessibility of these services. Block Development Officer Balakote, Sahil Angral provided a detailed explanation about the ongoing construction projects in the panchayat and emphasized the significance of the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (Clean India Mission).

In his concluding remarks, the Prabhari Officer discussed the importance of enabling villagers to become self-sufficient and highlighted the role of Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members in fostering faster change and growth within the Panchayat. The meeting concluded with all participants taking a pledge to work towards a Nasha Mukt (Drug-Free) society.
