Karnah Kupwara- Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd has urgently appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking immediate intervention to remove encroachments on Sharda Peeth in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
In a formal letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the Head & Founder of the committee expressed concern over the construction of a Coffee Home named “Peeth Pavilion” within the premises of Sharda Peeth by the Pakistan Army, a direct violation of the Supreme Court of PoK’s judgment dated 3rd January 2018. The Committee emphasized the significance of restoring the damaged boundary wall of Sharda Sarvagnya Peeth, located in District Neelum.
Ravinder Pandita, the Head and Founder of Save Sharda Committee, stated, “This action by the Pak army has hurt the sentiments of crores of Sharda followers, especially J&K Hindus.” The Committee cited the recent visit by Civil Society members of PoK to Sharda Peeth, confirming the encroachment and naming Brig. Tanveer Ahmad as the inaugurating officer.
Save Sharda Committee has mobilized the civil society of PoK, prompting them to write to the concerned AJK authorities, urging intervention to restore the Peeth. The urgency of the matter escalated following the inauguration of Sharda Yatra Temple (Base Camp) at LoC Teetwal by the Hon’ble Home Minister on 22nd March this year.
The newly built temple, consecrated by H H Swami Vidhushekra Bharathi Shankracharya of Sringeri Mutt on 5th June, is managed and run by Save Sharda Committee.
