Srinagar 13 Jan:(KB) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu has registered a case and arrested one Chander Shekhar Vohra alias Sanjay Vohra for allegedly bribing a police officer.

Vohra, son of Late Madan Mohan Vohra and a resident of 221, City Palace, Kachi Chawni in Jammu, has been booked under section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The case, registered as FIR No. 01/2024, is being investigated by the ACB Police Station in Jammu.

The case was filed based on a complaint by the Superintendent of Police, City South in Jammu. As per the complaint, on January 13, 2024, Vohra had approached the SP seeking an appointment. When he met the SP in her office at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, he allegedly gifted her a box of sweets and a yellow envelope containing Rs. 30,000 cash, as a bribe. The bribe was meant to seek extension on the exhibition-cum-sale period at Gole Market in Jammu beyond the originally permitted duration.
