NIT Srinagar final-year Student dies by Cardiac Arrest, institute says ‘Saddened by her loss

Srinagar, Jan 24: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar student passed away on Monday due to cardiac arrest. The student identified as Samridhi Gupta was a final-year student of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department at the institute, reported Greater Kashmir.

A resident of Jammu’s Bakshi Nagar, she joined the NIT in 2020.

Dr Gausia Qazi, head of the ECE Department said she was a good and very disciplined student. She also added that the entire ECE department is saddened by her loss. “The entire ECE department and Samridhi’s classmates are profoundly saddened by the loss. We stand in solidarity with the family during this challenging time,” she said.

“Samridhi had a good nature and was a highly disciplined student. Her sudden departure leaves a significant void. Our thoughts go out to the bereaved family, and we extend our prayers for peace and solace to her soul,” she added.

Prof A Ravinder Nath, director of NIT Srinagar expressed his condolences. “During this difficult period, may the family find the strength and resilience needed to navigate through the profound grief. NIT Srinagar stands united with them in these times of sorrow,” the professor said in a statement.

The institute’s registrar, Prof Aatikur Rehman expressed heartfelt sorrow and offered condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

“Samridhi’s presence left an indelible mark, and her absence is deeply felt by all of us at NIT Srinagar. We extend our support to her family and friends, offering strength and solace as they navigate through this challenging period of grief. May her soul rest in peace,” the registrar said.

A few days ago, an 18-year-old college student from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, passed away due to a heart attack during a coaching session. A resident of Bhanwarkuan, Madhav was preparing for Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) when he felt a sharp ache in his chest. Hours after being admitted to a private hospital nearby, Madhav tragically died of a heart attack. The entire incident was caught on camera by the CCTV footage of the classroom.–(News18)
