Srinagar, Jan 24 : One person was killed and four others sustained injuries when the vehicle they were traveling in overturned in the Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Wednesday evening.
An official told that the accident took place in the Daksum area of Anantnag. The vehicle involved in the accident was a temple vehicle with the registration number HR 55 AM 5306, carrying tourists.
The mishap resulted in the death of one individual at the scene, while the remaining four sustained serious injuries. They were immediately transferred to the GMC Anantnag for advanced medical treatment.
A police officer confirmed the details of the road accident and identified the deceased individual as Durgais Naik, a 32-year-old son of Guru Hari from Bhutrak, Odisha. The injured individuals were identified as Vikram Kumar, a 29-year-old son of Gautam Kumar Naik from Bhutrak, Odisha, Surjit Kumar, a 35-year-old son of Narenjander Kumar from Odisha, and Basant Kumar, who is approximately 30 years old and the son of Ravender Kumar from Odisha.
The officer added that a case has been registered regarding the incident, and an investigation is currently underway. (KS)
