Man dies after coming under Chinar branches in Anantnag

Srinagar, Feb. 11 : A 35-year-old man was killed on Sunday after he came under Chinar branches in the southern region of Kashmir.

Sources told that a man identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad Mir of Zalangam Kokernag, came under the branches of a chinar tree at Lokbawa.

However, he was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A police officer told that a case in this regard has been registered. He said the deceased was working as a woodcutter. The officer said that the body is at district hospital Anantnag, and after legal medical formalities, the body will be handed over to the family for last rites. (KS)
