Meeting of DLIDC held at Kulgam
KULGAM, APRIL 18: A pivotal meeting of District level Inter Departmental Committee (DLIDC) for Monitoring and Surveillance of Coaching Centres for drug abuse was today held at mini-secretariat Kulgam.
The meeting chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Kulgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone (Chairman DLIDC) was attended by key stakeholders including Chief Education Officer Kulgam, Zonal Education Officers, and heads of all coaching centres besides other concerned.
The focus of the meeting was to address the pressing issue of drug abuse among students, particularly in coaching centres.
After threadbare discussions and deliberations, Assistant Commissioner Revenue stressed upon the heads of all Coaching centres to cooperate with the Govt and other stakeholders in eradicating the menace from the society.
He emphasised upon the Chief Education Officer to furnish details of all Coaching Centres in the district and get them registered under the norms prescribed by the Govt. in this regard.
Moreover, stress was laid for promotion of a smoking-free environment in all coaching centres with strict enforcement of smoke-free guidelines.
