*November 01:* “`In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, Police in Shopian have arrested a person and seized illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police party of PS Shopian, during a routine patrolling at Batapora Shopian, intercepted a suspicious person carrying a bag who tried to flee after noticing police party but was apprehended tactfully. He has been identified as Bhashkar Shagosh Chavhan son of Shagosh Chavhan resident of Ramaji Nagar Sonala Road Borgaon District Akola Maharashtra A/P Tenant at Batpora Chowk Shopian.
During search, 26 bottles of illicit liquor were found in the bag. He has been arrested and shifted to police station.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 152/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Shopian and investigation has been initiated.
