KATRA, NOVEMBER 2: Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, who also oversees the Labour and Employment Department, celebrated Vishwakarma Diwas at the Vishwakarma Temple in Katra.
Being organized by the Mazdoor Dastkar Union, the event celebrated Lord Vishwakarma, the revered deity of artisans and labourers.
Deputy Chief Minister extended his greetings to all, underscoring the government’s dedication towards uplifting the labour force.
During his speech, the Deputy CM emphasized that the welfare of labourers is top priority for the administration. He pledged focused efforts to ensure that their needs and concerns are addressed, advocating a proactive approach to protect and support the labour community.
Surinder Choudhary highlighted his commitment towards generating employment for local residents, promising that upcoming projects and industries in the region would prioritise hiring locals. This, he noted, is essential for fostering a robust and self-reliant local economy.
The Deputy Chief Minister also addressed the issue of illegal mining, assuring the public of strict action against the offenders. As a gesture of solidarity, he along with the Labour department Reasi distributed death assistance cheques of Rs 2 lakh each among the families of six deceased construction workers registered with the JKBOCWWB.
Surinder Choudhary closed with a reassurance to the people, emphasizing that their grievances would be given the highest attention and care by his administration.
