Srinagar, Nov 7: A Border Security Forces trooper shot himself to death with his rifle in Bobiya area in Kathua district on Thursday afternoon.
An official told News Vibes of India that a trooper of 159 Battalion BSF, who was currently undergoing AMR Handling Course with 82 Bn BSF at Bobiya, shot himself with his rifle.
“The trooper was soon after evacuated to SDH Hiranagar, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival,” the official said.
“The mortal remains have been kept at SDH Hiranagar mortuary and inquest proceedings in the meantime initiated to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step taken by the trooper,” added the official. (News Vibes of India)
