71st All India National Cooperative Week-2024 celebrations held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA: An impressive event to mark the celebrations of the 71st All India Cooperative Week was on Saturday held  at the conference hall Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

The event, organized by Cooperative department Bandipora was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC commended the cooperative sector’s contributions to serving the general public and urged the cooperative society members to extend their support in re-establishing the lost legacy of cooperative societies.

He emphasized the importance of organizing awareness camps at various levels to widely promote the concept of conducting business through a cooperative-based economic model. He also praised the Cooperative Department Bandipora for hosting an impressive and impactful program.

During his speech, the DC urged all stakeholders to work towards reviving these societies to benefit their members and the general public.

He appreciated the efforts of Cooperative department in taking steps to establish societies on modern pattern and asked the concerned to take up the pace and redouble their efforts in shaping the development of these cooperative societies.

Earlier in the day, the DC inspected the stalls installed by different cooperative societies, where he stressed the importance of supporting and empowering youth through employment-focused initiatives.

While addressing the gathering, Assistant Registrar Hqr Cooperative Societies Bandipora emphasized the vital role of cooperative institutions in bolstering the national economy by bridging the rural-urban gap and fostering income-generating opportunities.

At the conclusion of the program, 03 cooperative institutions were awarded Certificates of Appreciation/ Excellence for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. Additionally, eight registration certificates were presented to newly registered cooperatives/ societies by the Deputy Commissioner.

Among others, the function was attended by the Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Chief Horticulture Officer Bandipora, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies of all Blocks of district Bandipora, District Information Officer Bandipora, Representatives of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department, members and stakeholders of Cooperative Societies of the district.
