Karnah Kupwara: In a commendable effort to serve the local community, the 89th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a “Medical and Veterinary Camp” at Panchayat Village Ghomal, Tangdhar, today under its Civic Action Program. The camp, held from 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs, was led by Shri Pradeep Kumar, Commandant of the 89th Battalion, accompanied by Shri Vrindavan Prasad Sah, Second Command Officer, and Dr. Abhishek Sharma (CMO/SG).
A dedicated team of doctors, including Dr. Abhishek Sharma (CMO/SG), Dr. Sheikh Yasir Arafat (GD/MO), Dr. Manik Sharma (AC/VET), Dr. Sajid Gilani (Orthopedist), Dr. Rameez Nabi (Dentist), and Dr. Javed Munawar (Gynecologist), offered their expertise during the camp.
The event saw a great turnout, with over 310 people, including children and women from Ghomal and neighboring villages, receiving medical treatment. Additionally, around 35 animals were provided veterinary care, and medicines were distributed to ensure their health.
At the conclusion of the camp, Shri Pradeep Kumar expressed his gratitude to the doctors and participants, emphasizing the importance of health awareness and preventive measures. He also presented mementoes to the doctors as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution.
The event concluded with refreshments being served to all attendees, reinforcing the spirit of community and cooperation.
