During the meeting, the IGP Traffic J&K reviewed feedback from officers regarding major traffic congestion points and the reasons behind them. He directed all officers to conduct a thorough study of traffic patterns, especially during peak hours, and adjust traffic regulations as needed in their respective areas.
Additionally, the IGP Traffic J&K emphasized the launch of special enforcement drives targeting underage drivers and those driving under the influence of alcohol. He also urged officers to make effective use of electronic gadgets, such as speed radar guns and breath analyzers, and utilize interceptor vehicles for strict enforcement of traffic rules. Officers were advised to maintain a visible presence on the roads during peak hours to ensure safety and discipline. The IGP Traffic J&K emphasized the importance of maintaining politeness and professionalism during enforcement activities. Officers are instructed to approach their duties with respect and courtesy, ensuring that interactions with the public are conducted in a manner that upholds the dignity of both law enforcement and the citizens they serve. This guidance aims to foster positive relationships between the police and the community while ensuring effective law enforcement.
Looking ahead, the IGP Traffic J&K stressed the significance of preparing for the upcoming winter season, as it would bring a substantial influx of vehicles and people, particularly from the Kashmir Valley, DKR (Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban) and Poonch-Rajouri regions. The IGP Traffic J&K instructed officers to make the necessary preparations to manage the anticipated surge in traffic and maintain order during this period.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to ensuring smooth traffic flow, enhancing road safety, and addressing congestion effectively through coordinated efforts and well-prepared strategies.
