Gunfight breaks out in Harwan

Srinagar: An encounter has broken out between terrorists and security forces in Harwan area, falling in peripheries of Srinagar city, here.

An official told news agency JKNS that upon receiving inputs of the presence of terrorists, a team of joint forces zeroed in on the spot. “Soon after, the terrorists opened fire, which was retaliated to, leading to breaking off an encounter in the area,” the official said.

It is believed that at least two terrorist are trapped in the area.

“The forces are intensifying the operation, to neutralise the hiding militants at an earliest,” the official added.
