Madh: Today, the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, in collaboration with Government Degree College, Madh, hosted a grand literary event titled “Sahityik Manch.” The event witnessed captivating poetry recitations by four distinguished poets of the Dogri language, enriching the literary atmosphere.
The event commenced with an insightful address by Padma Shri Mohan Singh, Convener of the Dogri Advisory Board of Sahitya Akademi. He lauded the efforts of Sahitya Akademi in promoting all Indian languages recognized by the Akademi. He shared details about the various schemes and initiatives undertaken by Sahitya Akademi, aimed at fostering and preserving languages like Dogri.
“Sahityik Manch” is a unique platform where literary stalwarts come together to express their ideas and share their writings with the audience. On this occasion, four renowned Dogri poets – Puran Chander Sharma, Lalit Sharma, Daya Ram Daya, and Chanchal Sharma – were invited to present their poetry. Their heartfelt compositions celebrated the rich heritage and culture of Dogri literature.
Dr. Rakesh Kaul, Principal of Government Degree College, Madh, warmly welcomed all the participants and emphasized his institution’s commitment to promoting Dogri language and literature. At the conclusion of the program, Assistant Professor Sheetal Sharma delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants, colleagues, and attendees.
The event also saw the participation of several prominent literary figures from Duggar Pradesh, including well-known Dogri authors such as Sushil Begana, Narinder Singh Chib, and Samvedna Sharma. Their presence added further prestige to the event, underscoring the deep connection to the preservation and promotion of Dogri language and culture.
In his closing remarks, Padma Shri Mohan Singh expressed special thanks to Principal Dr. Rakesh Kaul and Assistant Professor Sheetal Sharma for their support.
