Srinagar: At least five soldiers were killed and about two to three were left injured after a vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge in the Poonch sector, while a rescue operation is ongoing in the area, officials said.
Notably, the Indian Army has also expressed sorrow over the loss of five soldiers in a vehicle accident during operational duties.
An official told the news agency JKNS that at least five soldiers were killed and about two to three were left injured after the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident and plunged into a 150-foot deep gorge in Poonch.
Also, a tweet from the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps conveys the heartfelt condolences of all ranks, acknowledging the bravery of the soldiers who lost their lives. The tweet further informed that rescue operations were underway and the injured personnel were receiving medical care.

Earlier today, seven soldiers were injured when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge in Poonch district. The vehicle, which was en route from Nilam Headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post, crashed upon reaching Ghora Post.—(JKNS)
