New Delhi/Srinagar: Former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, passed away on Thursday at the age of 92. He was undergoing treatment for age-related medical conditions.
According to a statement released by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), as accessed by the news agency JKNS, Dr. Singh suffered a sudden loss of consciousness at his residence earlier in the evening. Immediate resuscitative measures were undertaken, and he was rushed to the Medical Emergency at AIIMS, New Delhi, at 8:06 PM.
It reads as, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Dr. Singh could not be revived and was declared dead at 9:51 PM.
Notably, Dr. Singh, a distinguished economist and statesman, served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014.
