Srinagar: Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district has saved a precious life amid a heavy snowfall.
Police in a statement to the news agency JKNS said that during the night intervening between 27/28 December, 2024, a distress call was recieved from Adigam, Devsar in which the caller mentioned that an ailing person (cardiac patient) namely Nawaz Ahmad Mallah S/O Ghulam Nabi Mallah R/O Adigam, Devsar, age about 30 years had suffered a minor heart attack and is in dire need of medical treatment.
However the family members were unable to shift the patient to the hospital at their own due to incessant snowfall and slippery road, making access impossible through conventional means, police spokesperson said.
Acting Swiftly, a special team led by SHO police station Devsar was constituted who rushed to the spot and evacuated the said cardiac patient to hospital for treatment, he added.
General Public of the area has applauded the efforts of District Police kulgam by timely helping the patient & admitting him at hospital in time and saved the precious life, police said.
Moreover special assistance teams have been deployed at key points throughout the district. These teams are equipped to provide immediate aid to vehicles and commuters impacted by slippery roads and incessant snowfall.
