Kupwara-Lolab, January : The picturesque Kariwan in Devar Lolab turned into a hub of cultural and winter festivities as the Lolab Winter Festival concluded on a grand note. Drawing thousands of visitors from across the region, the festival showcased the mesmerizing beauty and rich cultural heritage of Lolab Valley in Kupwara district.
Organized to celebrate the winter season and promote tourism in the region, the event featured an array of activities that captivated attendees. Highlights included traditional Kashmiri and Gojri folk music, Punjabi songs, skiing competitions, a snow volleyball championship, local handicraft exhibitions, nature walks, and a culinary festival showcasing regional delicacies.
The festival was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan, DDC Chairman Kupwara Irfan Sultan Pandipuri, VC DDC Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir, SSP Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani, and DDC Sogam Nasir Lone. Senior officials from the district administration, police, and army, along with local leaders and community representatives, also participated.
