Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday paid heartfelt tributes to the seven individuals, including a doctor and workers, who sacrificed their lives during the construction of the Z-Morh Tunnel in Ganderbal district.
Omar Abdullah, speaking at the inauguration ceremony as per news agency JKNS expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the long-awaited Z-Morh Tunnel. “The people of Kashmir were eagerly waiting for this moment, and I am hopeful that the remaining part of the tunnel will be completed soon,” he said.
Recalling PM Modi’s remarks during an election campaign in Srinagar, Omar Abdullah reminded him of his statement about bridging the “Dil ki doori and Dilli ki doori.” Omar added, “While many promises have been fulfilled, the promise of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir remains unfulfilled. I request PM Modi to restore statehood and believe he will walk the talk.”
Omar also thanked PM Modi for braving the harsh winter weather to attend the event and reiterated his commitment to ensuring peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
